Description
Nordic walking in Ostuni is only the first half of this outing. You begin on foot, with poles provided and a qualified instructor beside you, following scenic trails through the oak forest just outside town. The path passes ancient olive trees, historic farms and dry stone walls, and you may meet donkeys and free-roaming Murgese horses on the way. The whole experience takes about three hours.
Afterwards you leave the ground. Following a briefing with the instructors, you climb into the trees of the Ciuchino Birichino Adventure Park and cross from one platform to the next on ziplines and Tibetan bridges. An automatic coupling system keeps you attached to the line, and staff assist throughout.
- Nordic walking poles for the guided walk
- Safety gear for the tree courses
- Access to the ziplines and Tibetan bridges
- Briefing and help from the staff
The courses are open to everyone from age three, so a family with mixed ages can do the same programme together. It is also a good way to spend a hot summer day in the cool shade of the oaks, in the countryside of the Itria Valley, away from crowded beaches.
