Description
An olive oil soap workshop in Ostuni teaches the old Mediterranean way, far from any factory process. You work outdoors under the olive trees, using extra virgin oil from the same land, and you are guided step by step from the first measurement to the finished bars.
Only a few simple ingredients are involved: olive oil, water and lye. You measure, mix and blend them, watch the mixture slowly thicken, and tip it into silicone molds in varied shapes. Then comes the creative choice. Lemon zest brings a lively scent, rosemary an herbal note, lavender a calming one.
While the soaps set, there is time to slow down in the grove. The workshop takes about two hours.
