Description
In the countryside near Ostuni, a glass greenhouse topped by a willow tree is the setting for this cheese and wine tasting in Ostuni, reserved for your party alone. It begins with a welcome toast and introductions before the food arrives.
The cheeses, five Apulian kinds ranging from matured to semi-hard and soft, are laid out on wooden boards with typical condiments, with slices of Pane di Altamura, a piece of Focaccia Barese and the taralli from Ceglie Messapica, plus a glass of good local wine. The pairings follow the Puglia way. Water and coffee are served too.
The mood is familiar and relaxed, with plenty of chat and laughter. The session closes with everyone swapping opinions on what they tasted and on the region, a way to deepen your knowledge of Puglia.
It lasts around an hour and a half. Because it centres on cheese and bread, it is not suitable for people with gluten or lactose intolerance.
