Description

The fountain stands at the foot of Piazza Santa Teresa, crowning the two flights of stairs that lead to the top of the square. Made of green marble from the Province of Brindisi, it was dedicated to Benito Mussolini in 1940. With its rigid and severe lines, the fountain hosts at the top the emblem of the eagle, while on the right and left are the coats of arms of the city and the province of Brindisi. In the center prominently features the inscription related to the dedication to the Duce.
