Description
The construction of the nineteenth-century Palazzo dell’Hotel Internazionale is closely linked to the transit of the steamships of the Valigia delle Indie, which from 1870 to 1914 facilitated the connection between London and Bombay. For this reason, the building hosted rulers, nobles, and wealthy merchants passing through India, as well as King Vittorio Emanuele III, during important meetings held in Brindisi when it was elevated to the capital of Italy between '43 and '44.
